Projects and Programs
Resource Recovery Gippsland is involved in a number of important projects and programs in our work to inspire Gippsland to maximise resources and minimise waste.
Projects and programs range from research and partnerships to community engagement and action for sustainability.
Take a look at some of the current projects:
Gippswide Kerbside
Resource Recovery Gippsland is exploring options and identifying market appetite for a collaborative kerbside solution that will meet the future needs of the region.
ResourceSmart Schools
ResourceSmart Schools is an award-winning Victorian Government program that provides practical support to reduce resource use and make cost savings, integrate sustainability education into the curriculum and share learnings beyond the school gate.
Know Your Recycling
Victorians are great recyclers. But why is recycling so important to us and the environment? There is more to recycling than making the most of what we already have.

Container Deposit Scheme (CDS)
Using a cash reward for the return of drink cans, cartons, and bottles, Victoria’s container deposit scheme (CDS) will deliver:
- more and better recycling
- less waste, old containers become new ones
- less litter, cut by up to half
- hundreds of new jobs and economic opportunities across Victoria
- a cleaner, greener state.
E-waste
There’s a better place for e-waste than your rubbish bin. It’s much better going to a place where we can recover the precious materials to be reused and capture the nasty bits before they can do harm.
TAKE2 – Victoria’s Climate Change Pleadge
Delivered by Sustainability Victoria, TAKE2 is the state’s collective climate change program supporting all Victorians to help our state achieve net zero emissions by 2050. You can join thousands of Victorians taking action to address climate change.
Greenfleet – Carbon Offset
As an environmental non-profit, Greenfleet is the trusted carbon offset provider for thousands of leading organisations around Australia and New Zealand. Since 1997 they have planted more than 9 million native trees to restore forests and offset carbon emissions.
